A Note From Our Founder: Introducing Bleume
Hi, I’m Sam.
I am the founder of Bleume and I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself and the brand.
More than anything else, I am a lifelong gardener. My earliest childhood memories are of being out in the garden. Growing up, I was fascinated by plants and nature. I used to spend every recess looking for ladybugs and as soon as I got home, I always wanted to be outside. I was obsessed - I would read every horticultural reference book I could get my hands on from cover to cover. I wanted to know everything there possibly was to know about gardening.
Fast forward a few years and when I was in middle school, I started sneaking out of the house to ride my bike to the local garden center. (I know, I know. That is what every kid was doing when they snuck out of the house.) A few years later, I applied for a job at the garden center and I waited. And waited. And waited. Eventually, I realized that the garden center doubted my ability to do the job. I decided to take matters into my own hands. I parked my bike, marched into that store, and took action in the only way I could think of. I just started helping customers.
Looking back, I am sure the other customers were quite confused about a 15-year-old kid teaching them how to grow plants but I knew what I was talking about and I wasn’t afraid to share it. I was so passionate about plants that I didn’t even care if I was being paid. Two weeks later I had the job.
I like to tell that story as a way to describe myself both as a person and a gardener. As a rule, I don’t take no for an answer,
All of these experiences have led to the premise of Bleume. We are a brand that stands for inclusivity and our number one goal is to get as many people growing plants as possible.
Our mission at Bleume is simple: to inspire you to garden and to find beauty in the process.
Bleume is more than just a brand; it’s a testament to intentionality, thoughtfulness, and exceptional design. I am profoundly grateful to share this deeply personal endeavor with the world.
From the garden,
-Sam
